Bio
Ana Patuleia Ortins is the author of Portuguese Homestyle Cooking, a collection of traditional Portuguese recipes she was raised on. A first generation descendant of Portuguese immigrants from the Alto Alentejo region of Portugal, Ana Patuleia Ortins grew up with the ethnic lore and traditions attached to the food of her ancestors. Under the guidance of her father, aunt and grandmother, Ana started her culinary training as a young child going on to hold a degree in culinary arts. Frequent visits to Portugal and the Açores/Azore islands, reinforces her love of Portuguese food which she enjoys teaching in classes in Peabody, Massachusetts, U.S. A. She is also a member of Les Dames Escoffier.
